Inspections

Before you sell or trade away your vehicle, it first needs to be given the all-clear by a VicRoads licensed vehicle tester, and issued a Roadworthy Certificate.

We can conduct these inspections on all makes and models of passenger vehicles, 4x4s, light commercials and trucks, providing your vehicle with a clean bill of health or a list of necessary repairs that must be made before you can go ahead with your sale.

Vehicle Servicing

To maintain your new vehicle’s warranty, it’s required to have your vehicle undergo regular logbook servicing.

S&P Hulett is a reliable workshop trusted by manufacturers, and can perform logbook servicing on all petrol, diesel and LPG-powered vehicles, saving yourself the trip back to the dealership and giving you important forewarning of developing mechanical issues in your vehicle.

Brakes

Your brakes are the most important safety feature your vehicle has, often making the difference between an emergency stop and an expensive trip to the panel beaters.

Our workshop can provide a full range of brake repairs, from replacing worn and faulty pads, discs or drums to machining new parts on our in-house brake lathe. We also manufacture brake hosing in-house to suit your samples or requirements.

Steering & Suspension

Most ride comfort or handling issues stem from problems in your vehicle’s steering or suspension systems, whether it’s unresponsiveness or ‘play’ in the steering wheel to damage to excessive body roll when going around corners.

We can repair your vehicle’s suspension and steering, from replacing worn springs, shock absorbers and bushings to making repairs to your vehicle’s steering column and power steering system.

Clutch & Transmission

Trouble staying in gear, changing gears, or odd noises coming from underneath your vehicle, are all potential signs of problems developing in your vehicle’s transmission. These can become expensive repairs quite quickly if not detected early.

We’re able to provide a range of repairs for your vehicle’s drivetrain, from clutch pedal and hydraulic checks to repairs and replacement of your vehicle’s manual or automatic transmission.

Cooling System

Keeping your engine cool is important to proper vehicle health. An overheating vehicle can lead to all sorts of serious engine problems that can become costly to repair and potentially result in breakdowns. If you suspect your vehicle’s overheating, don’t take a chance; drive very carefully to S&P Hulett as soon as possible for a cooling check.

We’ll thoroughly inspect your coolant lines, repairing leaks and cracks in your hosing and seals, repairing or replacing damaged radiator units, switching out faulty thermostats, and conducting a full coolant flush to clear up any blockages in the coolant fluid lines.

Exhaust & Air Flow

Your vehicle’s engine relies on having the clean air it needs to operate efficiently and avoid lasting damage to your vehicle.

In addition to conducting repairs to your existing exhaust solution, we can recommend a new aftermarket solution from a range of headers, mufflers, extractors and other products, all to help improve the quality of air flow through your engine. We can also replace your vehicle’s air filters to ensure your engine gets the clean air it needs for optimal engine health.

Air Conditioning

Our staff are trained and experienced in air conditioning service and repairs. After all hoses, pipes and fittings are tested for leaks, our qualified staff will then supply you with an accurate assessment of your air conditioners performance.

If your car’s air conditioning isn’t cooling as it should, it may be losing refrigerant and require re-gassing. The problem needs to be diagnosed and, if a leak is evident, must be repaired before the air conditioner is re-gassed.

Diagnostic Scans

As cars are become more and more sophisticated in terms of their electronic components, a greater focus has to go towards keeping your vehicle’s electrical systems in top shape.

Our workshop is equipped with advanced diagnostic scan tools to locate and solve any trouble, from testing and replacing batteries and lights to finding and repairing faults in your electronic fuel injection system, traction control, and other key electrical features of your vehicle.
